The Flamencos Sanctuary lies at a 1.5h drive from Palomino.

It thanks its name to the great amount of flamingoes that put up their nests there. Besides the flamingoes, it is home to many other shore, water and endemic birds.

The sanctuary is a territory of swamps, lagoons and dry forests rich in fish, crustaceans and plants. Watch the flamingoes feed themselves, sticking their beaks into the Camarones river in search of the shrimps that give them their pink color.

You can afterwards relax at the beach, or enjoy a nice meal in the village.

No need to say that this wonderful one-day trip is very recommendable to nature and wildlife lovers.
